AGONA WEST CONSTITUENCY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE EXPELS MEMBER, SUSPENDS TWO OVER SUIT AGAINST HON. CYNTHIA MAMLE MORRISON
The Agona West Constituency Executive Committee has taken decisive action against three members who filed a suit against Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison, Member of Parliament for the area, over her residential status.
At a meeting held on October 15, 2024, the committee, joined by Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Mr. Kwesi Lincoln, and 2020 Parliamentary Candidate, Paul Ofori Amoah, deliberated on the suit filed by Mr. Emmanuel Addison, Mr. Harrison K. Aglago, and Solomon Nyarko, all from Swedru.
Mr. Emmanuel Addison has been expelled from the party for multiple anti-party behaviors, as per Article 46 (8) and (9) of the party’s constitution. His refusal to grant audience to senior party members made cooperation difficult.
Mr. Harrison K. Aglago and Mr. Solomon Nyarko have been suspended for two months for showing no interest in the case. Although they’ve shown remorse and cooperated with the party, they failed to consult leadership before filing the suit.
The committee emphasized that this disciplinary action serves as a deterrent to members whose actions may harm the party’s strategies and programs.
The party disassociates itself from the suit and urges members to remain resolute in campaigning for presidential and parliamentary candidates.
Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison, a member of the New Patriotic Party, has been serving as MP for Agona West since 2017.
The constituency, with its farming community and major business center, has been a swing seat between the NPP and National Democratic Congress (NDC).
