A serious car accident occurred on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 6am on the Akropong-Darbaa road in the Owabi River. A vehicle traveling from Darbaa to Akropong lost control and veered off the main road, plunging into the river and overturning.

According eye witness account, Five people were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, four of them have been found deceased:

* Helena Yasan (40), a seamstress

* Boamah Gyasi Eric (28), a plumber

* Lordina Yasan (10), a pupil

* Rita Agyare (41), a teacher

The fifth passenger, a five-year-old girl named Doreen Yesan, is still missing. Rescue efforts are ongoing to locate her.

The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the Mount Sinai morgue.

GNFS, Police NADMO, Presiding member, Elders of the community, volunteers group among others carry out the rescue mission
