A/R Gifts For Votes, A Hinder To The Region’s Progress- Asiedu Nketia Cautions People of Ashanti

As the country approaches the 7th December general elections, various political parties have started campaigning, which has led the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia invades the Ashanti Region for phase one of the retail campaign.

The National Chairman of NDC started day one of the retail campaigns from Akomadan Afrancho, Asuoso, Nsanoa, all in Offinso North District, Kayera, Amoawi in the Offinso South Municipal, Sasa in the Afigya Kwabre South and ended at Denase in the Afigya Kwabre North District.

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito, addressing the crowd said, It is time Ghanaians have a change of mind in voting especially the people in Ashanti region when persuaded with gifts as that is hindering the progress of the region.

The National Chairman of NDC stressed that it is time people of the Ashanti region reject gifts for vote and seek for development. Emphasising that the NDC has shown how development of the country and welfare of the people means to them whenever they are in power, but it turns out to be the other way round when the NPP is in power.

“If gifts such rice, oil, maggi, cutlass etc is what the people of Ashanti want instead of development, the NDC have no other choice but to follow suit when given the mandate to rule”, Mr. Asiedu Nketia stated.

The Parliamentary Candidate for Offinso North Constituency, Mr. Ceasar Acheampong Ofosu urged the people of Offinso North to vote him to power this year as he has a lot of developmental projects for them. Asking that the constituency has gained for the past 28 years, the NPP has ruled, urging to change their minds for a better future.

Nana Kusi, Akomadan Afranchohene Brempong, who represented Afranchohene, urged the NDC National Chairman to ensure that the peace in the country is maintained by cautioning their supporters before, during, and after the elelections.
