B/R Road Crashed Kill 58 People In Bono Region -National Road Safety Authority (NRSA)
Road crashes left 58 people dead in the Bono Region in 2024, available statistics from the Bono Regional Office of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) reveals.
According to Mr Sylvester Kwadwo Asare , the Bono Regional assistant planning manager of the NRSA, the region recorded 133 crashes from January to September compered to 102 crashes of 2023.
In an interview with the media after the commission of the GPRTU branch 2 new office at Sunyani,he said 133 people also sustained various degrees of injuries out of 99 of last year.
Mr Kwadwo Asare described the cases as unacceptable, and called on everybody to contribute and help bring the recorded cases of the crashes to the barest minimum.
Mr Augustine Gyan,the chairman of the GPRTU branch 2 expressed concern about the poor nature of roads in the region especially the Sunyani to Ntotroso road.
He called on the government to consider some of the train union drivers when recruiting drivers in the various government sector and urged drivers to be ambassador of peace before, during and after the upcoming elections.
