A/R Shit And Throw Hit SNNIT Gicel Estate As Management Sells Off Toilet Facilities

A serious sanitation issue has erupted at SNNIT Gicel Estate in the Weija Gbawe Municipality following the management’s decision of sell off most public toilet facilities, converting them into shops.

 

Without access to proper restroom facilities, many residents and visitors have resorted to defecating in plastic bags and discarding them around the estate, while others are using mini gutters as open toilets.

 

The unsanitary practice, known as “shit and throw,” has become an unfortunate reality for the estate, sparking outcry from local business owners who are now forced to endure the stench and mess around their shops.

According the shop owners, Every morning they find waste near their doorsteps, and they have to clean up before they can even open for business.

 

Business owners are raising red flags and appealing to the management of Gicel Estate to halt the sale of the estate’s toilet facilities.

 

They warn that the situation has already caused health and environmental hazards, impacting not only business operations but also the wellbeing of residents.

Speaking on behalf of the executives,Mr Samuel Boateng the organizer called on SNNIT to call Gicel to halt Sales these toilets which has put the entire community at risk.

 

He also mentioned that ,thier businesses are suffering, and are at risk of disease because there’s no proper place for people to relieve themselves.

He demanded that the estate management reinstate the public toilets or at least provide an alternative solution.
