A/R NPP Has Abandoned Cocoa Roads Despite Contributions Made By Cocoa Farmers To The Country

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia has accused the government of abandoning cocoa roads in farming communities despite numerous contributions made by these cocoa farmers to the country.

According to him, the NDC government did a lot when it came to the construction of cocoa farmers as they did see the benefits the country gets from these cocoa farmers in rural areas.

Adding that, monies gotten from the cocoa sector is what is used to build schools and others through the hard work of these gallant cocoa farmers.

He continues that, despite their immense contribution towards nation-building, they are always being left out of developmental projects, especially roads leading to where the nation gets its cocoa from.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia stressed that it is very sad when cocoa roads, which were given to contract by the NDC government, are still left abandoned after a change of government.

“These hard-working farmers have sweat for the country, and their only hope of seeing the construction of their road have been shattered,” he emphasised. Stating that these roads left in bad shape is another cost to the state.

The National Chairman of NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia made this statement at Adansi Akrofuom as part of his retail campaign tour in the Ashanti region.

The Parliamentary Candidate for NDC in Adansi Akrofuom, Hon. Joseph Azuma called on Ghanaians to have a change of mind in this NPP government and as it is only the NDC party who thinks about the welfare of Ghanaians and not their personal gains.
