A/R Let’s Embrace Peace As One People-Mr. Obed Achampong

The December 7th, 2024 election, all political parties in the Oforikrom Constituency have come together for a massive cleanup at Tech Junction in the Ashanti Region to promote peace among themselves.

The cleanup began bright and early at 6:00 am and saw representatives from NDC, GTP, NPP, The New Force, and CPP, among others.

Mr. Wisdom Selom Adigbli, an Executive Member of the NDC in Oforikrom Constituency, expressed that this is a wonderful way for all Ghanaians to live together peacefully.

Politics should be about choosing the party that aligns with your beliefs, not about fighting with your neighbours. We only have one Ghana, and we must do everything to maintain the peace we cherish.

The Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party, Hon. Adu Michael in Oforikrom Constituency, also participated in the cleanup.

In his statement to the media, he emphasized that as a leader, he will always be present for such activities that promote peace because, without peace, there is no one left to govern. He made this appeal during the cleanup campaign at Tech Junction.

He highlighted the importance of unity over political differences when it comes to community cleanups, as this unity prevents the buildup of waste in the environment.

He noted that diseases do not discriminate based on political affiliation. Therefore, he will continue to lead his party in such initiatives to strengthen the peace we currently enjoy.

Mr. Obed Achampong Powaka, CEO of the Ahenfo Foundation and the mastermind behind the all-political parties cleanup at Tech Junction in Oforikrom Constituency, emphasized that Ghanaian elections have always been peaceful, and he hopes the upcoming one will continue this trend.

However, he stressed the importance of constantly reminding ourselves of the peace we currently have.

Mr. Obed Achampong Powaka concluded by mentioning that this cleanup is just the beginning, and plans are in place to expand such initiatives to other parts of the country.

This is not only to promote peace but also to improve sanitation standards in the community and the nation as a whole.
