A/R No Road! No Vote!  Residents  Threaten Boycott Ahead Of December Polls

Residents in the Afigya Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region are up in arms over the deplorable state of their road network, which has been exacerbated by a contractor’s abandonment of the project.

The community’s main road, linking of Kenyasi, Antoa, Bonwire, and other communities has been blocked, causing immense hardship for commuters.

Commuters say they are facing increased travel times, and are struggling to transport their goods due to the poor road conditions, demanding that authorities take immediate action to repair the roads, or risk losing their votes in the upcoming elections.

According to frustrated residents, the contractor halted work on the project months ago, leaving behind a trail of destruction and chaos. The unfinished road has become a breeding ground for dust and flooding, making daily life a nightmare.

“We can’t even walk on the road without getting covered in dust, and when it rains, the whole area becomes a river. Our homes are flooded, and our belongings are destroyed, they stated’’.

Residents say the situation has also taken a toll on local businesses, with many struggling to access the area, demanding immediate action from authorities to complete the project and restore the road to its former state.
