Some driver unions have declared their support for the NDC presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
Ghana is left with just some few days to go on polls on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
Prior to the election, the Concern Drivers Union, True Driver Union and some members of the other various driver unions have openly thrown their support behind John Mahama.
Addressing a presser today in Kumasi, Paa Willie, the national chairman for the Concern Drivers Union, revealed their reason for supporting Mahama as the president who can make Ghana move forward if elected for.
“The current state of our economy is alarming. Rising fuel prices, high inflation, and a depreciating cedi are affecting the livelihoods of many Ghanaians”.
“As drivers and traders, we are struggling to make ends meet due to the increasing cost of operations”.
Further more, he said; “The poor condition of our roads is not only affecting economic productivity but also claiming lives. We urge the government to prioritize road maintenance and construction to ensure safe and efficient transportation.”
He said,, in light of these challenges, we endorse John Mahama’s vision for a 24-hour economy. This innovative approach will boost economic growth, create jobs, and improve the overall standard of living for Ghanaians.
On the other hand, some of the union members also added their voices to the same declaration and had these to add.
