A prison officer has been arrested in Assin Fosu, Central North Region, for taking a picture of his ballot paper after casting his vote at the Fire Service polling station. The arrest was made immediately after an NDC official alerted the police.
This led to some skirmishes at the police station. Subsequently he was made to delete the pictures and a photograph of him were taking by the EC officials.
In a separate development, the NDC has accused the NPP of distributing money to influence voters.
The NDC claims that a house belonging to an NPP member has been converted into a hub for these activities. The NDC Secretary for Assin Central elaborated on these allegations.
However, Vincent Nsaidoo, the NPP youth organizer for Assin Central, has denied these claims.
Election has ended. 805 of 914 casted their votes.
