NO Road, NO Vote – Residents, Nanaom Threaten To Boycott 2024 Elections Due To Demarcation Issues

Nananom and residents of Gomoa Otapirow which fall under Agona West Municipal have threatened to boycott 2024 Elections following wrong demarcation.

The decision by residents and Nananom was fueled by lack of Developmental projects facing the community over years now due to wrong demarcation.

Nananom said, politically they cast their votes to Agona West which political they falls under Agona West but traditionally they fall under Gomoa Central District.

They said, even though they cast their votes to Agona West but they don’t get any support from the Agona west District and also they don’t get anything from Gomoa Central District because they don’t cast their votes to Gomoa Central.

The aggrieved residents therefore called on local government ministry, electoral commission, government to instigate their community into Gomoa Central District for them to also cast their vote to Gomoa Central to help them get support from government.

The residents and Nananom in a press conference dressed in a red attire with plad cards expressing their frustration and anger said, they didn’t partook in the district assembly level Elections and they will continue to boycott the incoming general elections if their demands are not met.

Meanwhile, Odikro of Gomoa Otaprow Nana Osompa Nyamekye II said, has also said, if they are demands are not met they won’t participate in the elections on Saturday because they are being fooled by Agona West Municipal hence the need to integrate them to Gomoa Central District assembly.
