Ghana Pastors Union Intercede For The Country As We Towards The Polls

As the country left with a few days to go to the polls to elect a new president and members of parliament, the Ghana Pastors Union have organised a prayer session in Kumasi to intercede for the country’s peace before, during and after the elections.

The Ashanti Regional Coordinator for Ghana Pastors Union, Evangelist John Amankwah explained that the aim behind their meeting was to come together as a union and pray for the country and its citizens for the peace we have to be maintained as without peace, there can never be progress in the country.

Adding that, the program was to advocate for pastors to encourage their members to participate in the elections as they (pastors), leading the various congregations also vote.

Evangelist John Amankwah stressed that the perception most people have that pastors do not vote is never true. Urging other fellow pastors not to use church activities as an excuse to skip voting as an expression of one’s views forms part of our democracy.

The Ashanti Regional Coordinator for Ghana Pastors Union entreated most pastors and prophets predicting victory to favour some political parties just to gain fame to put an end to it as all those contribute to fear and panic in the country.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Kwadaso Municipality, Hon. Richmond Agyenim Boateng, who graced the occasion, applauded the Ghana Pastors Union for such initiatives, which seeks for peace. Adding that this initiative by the union will not only benefit the country but the pastors as well, as without peace, members of will also be affected.

Hon. Richmond Agyenim Boateng pleaded with some pastors and prophets, giving false prophecies during these crucial times to refrain from such acts as it would not do any good to the country at large, but in the end they (pastors and prophets) will bear the consequences for their actions.
