Student Damaged His Teacher His Left Eye With A knife Cutter

A student of Asuoso senior high school in the Offinso north district in the Ashanti region by name Alex Annor permanently damaged the left eye of his teacher with a knife cutter.

The incident happened on the 18th November, 2024, when the teacher was on duty and the student was at the canteen during contact hours.

His instruction for the student to leave the canteen was not obeyed, so he followed up to compel the Form 3 visual art student to get to the classroom.

In an attempt to use the cane to frighten the student, Alex Annor pounced on the teacher and in the process used the knife on the back of the teacher’s head, neck and ended up piercing the left eye.

Medical report from St Patrick hospital at Offinso indicates that the left eye has been permanently damaged.

In an attempt to convey the student to the Police by the school authorities, the community stampeded them and attempted freeing the student who is alleged to have committed the crime. The Police intervened to save the situation, and the guy was remanded.

The matter did not end there, The community started attacking the said teacher and all other teachers in the school not to come to the community to the extent that the said teacher who was staying in the community has been moved to stay on campus.

Instead of calling for calm in the community , the Chief of Asuoso  is now mounting pressure on the affected teacher to discontinue the case in court.

Today, 9-12-24, the case was to continue at the Offinso Circuit Court, but the prosecutor could not show up.

Our contact with the GNAT Ashanti Chairman revealed that they have asked the teachers to lay down their tools and leave the community until next week, Monday, when the next line of action will be communicated.
