Six Bedrooms Burnt To Ashes At Wassa Akyempm Rendering 30 Inhabitants Homeless
Thirty (30) people have been displaced at Wassa Akyempim in the Wassa East district of the western region following a fire outbreak that occurred around 4:30 pm yesterday.
Speaking with Yaw Tailor one of the victims, he recounted that all the occupants of the house were not at home when the tragic incident happened. Some of them who were workers had gone to work, including himself, while the students among them were also in school.
It was eyewitnesses who narrated to him, Yaw Tailor, that they only saw a dense smoke appearing from one of the rooms, which later became intense and subsequently followed by burdensome flame. Frantic efforts were made by the eyewitnesses to curb the situation before the arrival of fire service personnel, but their best could not salvage the situation.
A lot of valuable personal belongings such as mattresses, clothes, mobile phones, bags, students’ books, and huge sums of unidentified amount of money have been destroyed by the fire.
Yaw Tailor, on behalf of the other victims, called on the benevolence of the Ghanaians to come to their aid.
