Pru West Police Officer Shot Colleage To Death At Abeasi

A tragic incident occurred around 11:30 am on Sunday at Abease, along the Prang to Kintampo road in the Bono East Region, where a police officer was fatally shot.

According to reports gathered by by our reporter Kwabena Manu, a funeral procession was underway, and the mourners were headed to the cemetery.

However, they encountered a police barrier, which led to a confrontation.

The situation escalated when one of the mourners alledgedly insulted a female police officer, prompting her to call for backup.

Reports indicates that responding officers clashed with the mourners, and one officer allegedly gave warning shots.

In an attempt to disarmed him, people tried to take the gun away, but it accidentally went off, shooting his colleague in the abdomen.

The officer responsible fled the scene after realizing the harm caused.

The injured officer was rushed to a nearby clinic and later transferred to Techiman Hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
