Dormaahene Celebrates 25TH Anniversary / Kwafie Festival
The Dormaahene celebrates the Silver Anniversary and 2024 Kwafie Festival amid a pure display of culture and tradition at the Dormaa Ahenkro.
The overlord of the Dormaa traditional area and President of the Bono House of Chiefs celebrates the 25th Anniversary after 25 years of ascension to the Aduana throne. Osagyefo Ɔseadeɛyɔ Dr. Fredua Agyemang Badu II succeeded his late uncle Nana Agyemang BaduI.
He ascended the throne on July 25, 1999.
The celebration coincides with this year’s Kwafie Festival at the Agyemang Badu I sports stadium.
The theme for this celebration: Our Environment Our Future.
The celebration brings about hundreds of chiefs, political leaders, and thousands of people in and outside the Dormaa land.
OSAGYEFO ƆSEADEƐYƆ DR. AGYEMANG BADU II, Dormaahene and president of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs commend both the past and present government, Religious bodies, and the Dormaaman for their unflinching support since he ascended the throne.
He assures his subjects to develop the Dormaa traditional area with factories and other projects from the resources on the throne.
Chairman for the programme OHENPON YEBOAH ASIAMAH I urges traditional leaders to take a keen interest in national issues since they affect them and their subjects. He charges them to speak out on issues that adversely affect the land and the environment due to the numerous adverse consequences of land and environmental degradation. He commends the Dormaahene for his selflessness and dedication to the service of his people and Ghana as a whole.
The Chairman again reminds traditional leaders to prioritize the welfare of their people. He calls them to remain united and rekindle the Bono unity to pave the way for the development of the Bono.
