Residents of Yeboakrom in the Juabeng Municipality of the Ashanti Region are living in a state of perpetual darkness, forcing them to sleep early in the evening due to the lack of electricity in the community.
The situation has become a major source of concern for the residents, who are appealing to the authorities to come to their aid.
The total darkness that engulfs the town at night has also led to injuries, as some of the elderly residents have fallen and hurt themselves while trying to navigate their way in the dark.
The roads are dusty and unmotorable, making it difficult for residents to access basic necessities like healthcare and education. The dust from the roads is also posing a health risk to the residents, who are constantly inhaling it and complaining of respiratory problems.
The residents are therefore calling on the authorities to address these pressing issues and provide them with the basic necessities of electricity and good roads.
They believe that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that they have access to these basic necessities, and are hoping that their cries for help will be heard and addressed soon.
