Nana Asare Bediatuo Footed Bills Of Patients At Nkawie/Toase Gov’t Hospital
Nana Asare Bediatuo I, Nkosuohene of Nkawie-Kuma in the Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti region has pay the hospital bills for about Twenty-four (24) patients who could not afford their bills after been treated and discharged.
The Nkawie-Kuma Nkosuohene in another development in Partnership with Ambitious Ladies also supported about twenty-four (24) youth in apprenticeship that are into SeamHairdressing with Start-up kits and undisclosed amount of monies.
Speaking at the event, Nana Bediatuo disclosed that the initiative was geared towards supporting the needy and less privileged in the Nkawie, Toase, and surrounding communities to give them some sigh of relief to makes earns meet.
According to him, the initiative would continue when there is the need to ensure that he contributes his quota in complementing the government’s efforts to reduce unemployment, especially among the youth in the area.
He expressed the view that he was also touched by the plight of the patients in the hospital who were discharged but could not go back home to their families because they could not afford their bills.
He assured the hospital Authorities to visit the facility appropriately to foot the bills of mothers who gave birth but can not go home because they could not afford their bills.
Mr Ben Kwabena Sintim, the administrator at the Nkawie/Toase government hospital on behalf of Dr. Roberto Frank Fiifi, the Medical Supt. of the hospital expressed their profound gratitude to Nana Bediatuo for the kind gesture done to the beneficiaries and would always remain grateful to him.
According to him, most of the patients often abscond with their bills when they feel they can not afford to pay and make the authority find it difficult to the auditors.
He noted that the authorities, without any options, seek to run to social welfare for support, and sometimes, the staff also embark on silver collections to feed the detainees until they are billed out.
