Kirk Mensah Accuses NPP Of Destroying Akufo-Addo’s Statue At Effia Nkwanta Roundabout
The Western Regional Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kirk Mensah, has alleged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is behind the destruction of the statue of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo located at the Effia Nkwanta Roundabout in Sekondi-Takoradi.
According to Kirk Mensah, the act was carried out by members of the NPP to intentionally create chaos and frame the NDC for the vandalism. He claims the incident is part of a calculated political ploy to tarnish the image of the NDC in the Western Region.
He further alleged that the motive behind the vandalism could be linked to recent comments made by the Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, who reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the statue being placed in his constituency.
Our reporter Nana fynn in an interview with Kirk Mensah, condemned the alleged actions of the NPP and called on law enforcement to investigate and bring the perpetrators to book. He also urged residents and NDC supporters to remain calm despite the provocation.
“This act of destruction clearly exposes the desperation of the NPP to discredit the NDC. It is shameful and must be condemned. The NPP is trying to play the victim while they are the real culprits,” Kirk Mensah said.
