A 15-year-old boy is fighting for his life at the Christian hospital in Wassa Ateiku, Western Region after his sister poured hot water mixed with pepper sauce on him.
The incident occurred when Esther Mensah, an apprentice hairdresser and the boy’s elder sister, accused him of stealing GH¢300 from her hairdressing salon.
According to Esther, she had left the money at the salon overnight, only to discover the next morning that someone had broken in and stolen the cash. After investigating, she allegedly discovered that her 15-year-old brother was responsible.
When confronted, the boy allegedly pulled a kitchen knife, attempting to stab Esther. In self-defense, Esther grabbed a mixture of hot water and pepper sauce she had prepared for her two-year-old son’s bath and poured it on her brother.
The victim sustained severe burns on his face, arms, chest, and abdomen. The incident has sparked outrage in the community.
