Residents Of Nkawkaw-Nankyea Appeal For Footbridge To Save Lives
Chief and residents of Nkawkaw Nankyea in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region are appealing for the footbridge promised to be constructed for them about 7 months ago after Nankyea school children’s accident, which claimed eight lives.
About seven months ago, pupils from Ampeah memorial school involved in an accident that claimed 8 lives.
After this incident, the chief and residents were assured of a footbridge after they appealed for it ,which will enable the residents to cross road without any accident, but as at now, they haven’t seen any signs to construct the footbridge.
Therefore, the chief of Nankyea, Nana Kwasi Bamfo, has appealed to the government, especially Eastern region road engineer, to fulfil his promise.
In addition,some of the residents said if the government fails to construct the footbridge, they will take the law into their own hands and block the highway.
