Heavy Rainstorm Destroys Properties, Injures Four At Tepa Abonsuaso
A devastating rainstorm struck Tepa Abonsuaso in the Ahafo Ano North Municipal of the Ashanti Region on Thursday evening, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair.
The storm, which displaced over 100 residents, ripped roofs off buildings, caused the collapse of over 40 structures, including schools, and injured four individuals.
The injured have since been hospitalized and are receiving medical attention.
The victims recounted the terrifying moments when the storm unleashed its fury, leaving families scrambling for safety as their homes crumbled around them and pleaded to the authorities to come to their aid.
Hon. Frederick Nyamekye, the assembly member for the Abonsuaso electoral area, described the situation as heartbreaking.
He assured the affected residents of his commitment to helping them recover.
“We are working tirelessly to provide immediate relief to those impacted and to seek long-term solutions for rebuilding the community,” he said.
Antwi Ernest, the NADMO Zonal Coordinator for Abonsuaso, also visited the affected area to assess the extent of the damage.
“We have documented all the details of the affected persons and properties and forwarded the report to my superiors in Tepa for further action,” he stated.
