ECG Cable Thief Electrocuted To Death At Gomoa Potsin
A man believed to be in his late 20’s attempted to steal electricity transmission cables has been electrocuted to death at Gomoa Potsin in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Some parts of Blue House Estate, a suburb of Potsin experienced power outage in the night of Saturday, January 25, 2025.
At the time residents considered it to be a normal outage until they discovered that some power transmission lines have been cut and hanging.
They further prompted the Electricity Company of Ghana to have the cables reconnected.
However, a farmer spotted the decomposing remains of an individual around one of the electricity poles with a pair of pliers and backpack that contained other tools beside him.
The body showed signs of electrocution causing residents to suspect that the deceased was part of the gang that cut the cables.
Meanwhile Gomoa Potsin watchdog committee Chairman, Ebo Anderson said,theft of electricity cables in the Central Region is on the rise fastly wide spreading, he therefore called on Ghanaians to be vigilant in their communities
