In a bid to boost employment opportunities to absorb the numerous unemployed youth, the traditional leaders at Twifo Mampoma and Twifo Kayireku have partnered with the Arukah Global Limited, a local investor, to cultivate a massive 1446.18-hectare plantation in the area.
The lands given out by the chiefs extend to three districts, which include Twifo Praso, Dunkwa On Offin, and Huni-valley in the Western Region.
The communities set to benefit from this lucrative project include Agyempoma, Oppong Valley, Akaase Numbem, Abosombuhu, and Sodadiem.
Nana Boakye Hene II, who doubles as the Chief of Twifo Mampoma, disclosed that extensive consultations were held with all the chiefs and farmers before reaching this consensus.
The economic and social benefits of the project, he noted are enormous with Arukah Global Limited determined to provide both direct and indirect employment opportunities to about 1,500 people in the three beneficiary districts and beyond.
Nana Gyamerah Akoto II, Consultant for ARUKAH GLOBAL LTD, added that the company has completed evaluations of existing properties on the designated lands to determine compensation for affected property owners prior to the project’s commencement.
