The Elmina Salt Industry, located in the Central Region of Ghana, continues to operate despite rumors of its collapse.
The chiefs of the Edina-Anomansa Traditional Area, representing the Komenda Edina Eguafo-Abrem area, during their visit to theindustry to observe its progress’ according to them this visit comes in response to several years of dormancy and the resulting negative comments from some Elmina residents, who criticized the traditional council for perceived lack of transparency.
Chief Nana Kwamina Nguando IV expressed the council’s commitment to the industry’s revitalization.
He highlighted the importance of their inspection to understand the improvements made since investors took charge.
The chief also encouraged industry workers to continue their efforts in ensuring the industry’s success and long-term sustainability.
Addressing the media, Nana Kwamina Nguando IV, emphasized that individuals falsely claiming ownership over the Elmina Salt Industry, whether from within or outside Elmina, must cease such claims.
He warned that offenders would face legal consequences, including potential arrest, to uphold accountability and protect the industry’s interests.
Moreover, the chief urged workers to communicate any issues or complaints directly to the Elmina chiefs, ensuring that concerns are addressed effectively and promptly for continued collaboration and prosperity within the industry.
