Land Guards Are Making Our Lives A Living Hell For Us – Kyekyewere Residents  Cry Out

Fear grips Akyem Kyekyewere, a burgeoning community in the Ayensuono District of the Eastern Region’s as rampant land guard activities have plagued residents and developers for nearly a year.

The escalating violence has created a tinderbox of tension, with residents alleging that land guards not only vandalize unfinished buildings and construction sites but also brutally attack residents and developers with machetes, leaving some with gruesome injuries.

Akyem Kyekyewere, once a peaceful community in the Ayensuoano district, is now plagued by land guard activities. Residents and developers are worried, and for good reason.

They’ve been attacked multiple times, and properties have been destroyed.

The residents shared their concerns with Adom the media stating that several acres of farmland, including palm, coconut, and cocoa, have been ravaged by land guards. Kwaku Adedi an Opinion leader reported that developers in Akyem Kyekyewere recently had their structures destroyed by land guards claiming ownership.

The community is calling on the security agencies to intervene, as their lives are at risk.

Residents of the area shared harrowing accounts of Land Guards’ brutality, recounting multiple instances of severe physical assaults on property caretakers.

The armed thugs allegedly fire gunshots indiscriminately, striking fear into the hearts of children, families, and the entire community.

The residents urgently appealed to the Inspector General of Police to intervene, seeking protection for innocent lives, vulnerable individuals, and properties.
