WAPCo Announces 70% Completion Of Gas Pipeline Maintenance, Assures On Power Supply Stability In Tema

The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has confirmed that maintenance works on its gas pipeline from Nigeria to Ghana, which has temporarily affected the gas supply to Tema is 70% complete.
The one-month maintenance, which began on February 5, is slated for completion by March 2, 2025.
The maintenance includes pipeline cleaning and the replacement of several subsea equipment components.
During a media tour at the Regulation and Metering Station in Tema, Dr. Isaac Adjei Doku, General Manager of Corporate Affairs for WAPCo, explained that these maintenance operations are carried out every five years to ensure the pipeline remains operational for the long term.
He reassured Ghanaians that Work is progressing steadily, and is confident that the maintenance will be completed without delay.
In addition, Dr. Doku emphasized that the government and other stakeholders have procured sufficient volumes of liquid fuel for power generation plants in Tema, ensuring there will be no disruptions to power supply during this period.
