Over 25 Passengers Injured In Gomoa Mprumamu Accident

Over 13 passengers are seriously injured while 11 others sustained minor injuries after a Sprinter Benz Bus with the registration number GW 8172-22 collided with a Nissan pickup with Registration GN 3611-24 at Gomoa Mprumamu Junction on the Winneba – Mankesim Highway in the Central Region.

13 passengers are critically injured and receiving treatment at Winneba Trauma and Specialists Hospital while others who sustained minor injuries are also receiving treatment at Apam St Luke Catholic Hospital respectively after they involved in accident on the Winneba -Mankesim Highway.

Speaking to Angel news Apam District Fire Service Commander,*DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule* revealed that, the sprinter Benz Bus loaded with passengers from Accra to Cape Coast while the Nissan pickup from Cape Coast to Accra Direction but made a wrongful U-turn at Gomoa Mprumamu Junction leading to the accident

DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule said, because the sprinter driver was over speeding, he failed to control himself when he saw the driver of the pickup making the wrongful U-turn on the highway.

Apam District Fire Service Commander indicates that 25 person involved in the accident but none of the victims died.

DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule also advised drivers driving on the Kasoa Cape Coast highway to desist from the unnecessary over speeding and overtaken and also appealed to passengers to also monitor drivers to avoid consistent accidents on the Kasoa Cape Coast highway.
