Ghana’s Health Minister, Hon Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has made a shocking revelation about the Agenda 111 hospital project at Trede,a community in the Atwima Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti region.
Despite being commissioned by former President Akufo-Addo on December 5,2024, the hospital is uncompleted and non-operational.
Hon Minister Akandoh’s inspection of the project sites in Trede, this morning revealed that the hospital is mere “bricks and mortar” structures.
The facilities lack essential furnishings, equipment, and staff, rendering them unusable.
The minister attributed the incomplete state of the hospital to the previous administration’s haste to commission them for political gain.

The minister attributed the incomplete state of the hospital to the previous administration’s haste to commission them for political gain.
However, this has left the current government with a significant financial burden. Completing the Trede hospital alone will require $8 million, exceeding GHc100 million.
The government has assured citizens that it will prioritize completing the Agenda 111 project.
The minister was accompanied by the Ashanti regional minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene and the road minister, Hon Governs Kwame Agboza.
