Adum Fire GUTA President Vows To Fight For Members Affected

The Ashanti Regional President of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), Mr. Anthony Oppong, has assured that they will fight for the rights of their members affected by the recent Adum fire incidents.

He emphasized that they will ensure everyone receives their due share.

According to Mr. Oppong, they are going to have a crunch meeting with the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, to discuss the best ways to recover lost capital and rebuild damaged structures.

The rebuilding plans aim to create more spacious structures, allowing for easier emergency vehicle access.

Mr. Oppong stressed that no member will be left behind.

He also advised traders to insure their properties, as this would provide some financial support from insurance companies in the event of future disasters.

Meanwhile, the affected traders have today, Monday, March 24, 2025 petitioned the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II, for his swift intervention in order for the traders to reacquire their trading lands.

When speaking to Angel Tv News reporter Bismark Mensah, they expressed their concerns that there is a rumour going viral stating that the trading land in question will be redeveloped and snatched from them.

That’s why they have petitioned Asantehene for his fast and kind intervention.
