Mpohor-Fiase NDC Executives Urge President Mahama To Exempt District From Gender Balance In DCE Selection

Some concerned executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Mpohor-Fiase constituency have appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to exempt their district from the gender balance consideration in the selection of a District Chief Executive (DCE).
Addressing a press conference, the executives stated that only one female aspirant was shortlisted for the DCE position.
However, they claim that this individual had initially intended to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries but was asked to step aside in favor of the current MP.
After the party refunded her filing fee, she allegedly withdrew from all campaign activities and only returned to the constituency to vote in the general elections.
According to the executives, such a person cannot be entrusted with the leadership of the district.
They are, therefore, urging President Mahama to appoint Daniel Mawule Agbeshi instead.
The constituency communications officer and convener of the press conference, Alexander Ofori, emphasized that Agbeshi is the most suitable candidate for the DCE position.
He noted that Agbeshi is well-known in the constituency and has proven himself as a dedicated party member.
Other executives also vouched for Agbeshi, citing his track record, passion for development, and unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals as reasons why he deserves the appointment.
