Two Highway Robbers Arrested At Wangarakrom Near Tarkwa

As part of ongoing crime-fighting efforts in the region, the Western Central Police Command, led by ACP Bismark Agyapong, arrested two suspects on March 31, 2025, in connection with a robbery and extortion incident.

The suspects, Kwame Mumin and Awal Benjamin, had blocked the road at Wangarakrom, near Tarkwa, and robbed motorists of various valuables, including cash.

Items recovered from the suspects include an unregistered red Suzuki motorbike, military camouflage tops, three pairs of boots, a flashlight, a black face mask, a machete, and an amount of GHC 645.00 in cash.

ACP Bismark Agyapong advised the public to remain vigilant, particularly Mobile Money vendors, and to report any suspicious activity. He also urged them to close their businesses early to avoid potential attacks from criminals.
