A Farmer Shot Dead At Nyanoa

A 45 year old farmer Azumah Zakari has been shot dead by an alleged notorious land gard called Kobby Asaa and one Red at Nyanoa a farming community in the Upper West Akyem district of the Eastern Region.

The incidents occurred on Saturday 5th April 2025 at about 2 pm.

According to the wife of the deceased madam Adwoa Augustina, she was there with the husband and man told him that he wanted to go the orange farm to check because, he had planned earlier to cut down some trees on the farm to make way for more yields.

Upon reaching the farm according to his wife’s narration he met some gunmen in the cutting down the orange trees and they told him the deceased that the land has been sold to different person to cultivate garden eggs, she said the husband replied them if that’s the case then he will come for the fell orange trees for firewood.

She furthered that, as the husband decided to return home, the Armed men shot her husband’s left leg from behind and according to the report he bled for hours due to inadequate vehicle to transport him to a nearby hospital for treatment which lead to his demise.

Some of the youth that accompenied the deceased to Asamankese Government Hospital has alleged that the Chief of Nyanoa Osabarima Opoku Okyere II is behind the assassination of Azumah Zakari because the alleged notorious land gard kobby Asaa and Red has been working for the chief and indiscriminately selling of lands is what what the chief is practicing in the area.

Kobby Asaa and Red are on the run currently but the case has been reported to Nyanoa and and Asamankese Police respectively for the needed action and the body of the deceased has been deposited at Asamankese Government Hospital morgue.
