Armed Robbers Attack Traa Community; Young Girl Killed, Several Properties Stolen

Residents of Traa, a community within the Techiman Metropolis of Bono East Region are counting their losses in anguish after suspected armed robbers attacked several households during the blackout (Dumsor) on Friday night 4 April, 2025.
According to the residents, the unidentified arm-wielding gang ransacked homes and made away with cash, mobile phones and other valuables.
The saddest part of the robbery operation is that a young girl aged about sixteen (16) years and a form two (2) student of Guakro Effah SHS at Offuman in the Techiman North Municipality whose name was given as Lawrencia Yaa Afra was found dead in her room the following morning in a pool of blood; suspected to have been attacked by the robbers.
Even though as at the time Link News Reporter Nana Kwadwo Adu reached the Traa Community, the Techiman District Police Patrol Team had already conveyed the body of Lawrencia Afra to the morgue; he spoke to wailing mother of the deceased Madam Diana Boateng who narrated her ordeal.
Some residents of Traa whose cash, mobile phones and other valuables were stolen also spoke to Link News.
Meanwhile, Nana Adwoa Amankwaah the Queen Mother of Traa and Nana Ɛkoɔba Gyasi the Mmrate3hene while calling for an improved security from the Police also said Nananom will consult the powerful deity of the village (Boɔtwerewa) to spiritually find the perpetrators of these heinous atrocities which they have never witnessed since time immemorial.
However the Techiman District Police Command declined speaking to the Media on record but confirmed the incident saying remains of the deceased has been kept with the Holy Family Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy while investigations into the matter have began.
