Assembly Members Confirm KMA Major Of Kumasi With 98.2% Votes

The Assembly members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly have confirmed Mr Richard Ofori Agyemang as the Mayor of with 98.2% of the total Votes cast at Miklin Hotel organized by the Ashanti Regional Electoral Commission (EC).

Out of the total number of the 60 members of the Assembly, four were absent, with 56 present includes the 36 elected members and 20 government appointees.

Out of the remaining 56 members, 55 votes Yes while one voted No, with a percentage of 98.2% of the total votes cast.

After the EC declaration of Mr Ofori Agyemang been massively endorse by the Members of the Assembly, he was supervised by Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister to sworn the Oath of Secrecy and allegiance to officially takes office.

The Ashanti Regional Minister on behalf of the President of the Republic John Dramani Mahama Commended the Assembly Members for overwhelmely endorsing the President nominee to help move the metropolis and the region forward.

Mr Richard Ofori Agyemang aka King Zubah expressed his profound gratitude to the president for nominating him out of the ten potential aspirants.

He expressed appreciation to the Ashanti Regional Chairman, the Regional Minister and other Regional Executives for reposing confidence in him to be nominated by the president.

He thanks Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene for accepting his nomination by the president, and promised to work in the interest of the development of the metropolis and the residents in support of the president resetting agenda.
