Assin North NDC Supporters Celebrate After Court Acquits And Discharges James Gyakye Quayson

Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Assin North have expressed immense joy following the ruling of the Accra High Court that acquitted and discharged their Member of Parliament, James Gyakye Quayson.

Quayson, who had been embroiled in a legal battle over dual citizenship since 2021, was cleared of all charges when the court dismissed the case against him.

Martin Apaah, the Assin North Constituency Deputy Communication Officer for the NDC, reacted to the ruling, reflecting on how the prolonged legal ordeal had impacted both the party and the constituency.

He expressed his belief that the court’s decision was fair and looked forward to a brighter future, now that Quayson is relieved from the stress brought on by the case.

Meanwhile, many supporters are eagerly anticipating further development in the constituency, including the ministerial appointment promised by former President John Dramani Mahama during the 2023 Assin North by-election campaign.

They also noted that the legal challenges faced by Quayson had negatively impacted the region’s development, particularly in areas like road infrastructure.
