Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology and doubles as MP for Tamale Central, Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, has disbursed funds 10 companies as part of the first tranche grant for the Establishing a Circular Economy Framework for the Plastic Sector in Ghana (CEF-PS) Project.
He said 10 companies within the plastic waste management ecosystem are going to receive grants for the first trench of the pilot project, which is worth millions of United States dollars.
He urged the plastic waste companies who are fortunate in receiving the grant to use the grant they have received from the government for the purpose they were allocated for adding that there are a lot of companies in the country who also operate within the plastic waste management ecosystem but they are the fortunate few among a lot for them to continue foster the cordial relationship between government and the private sector.
He seized the opportunity to thank the minister in taking time out of his busy schedule in touring all 10 benefactors companies to see the kind of jobs they are doing and going ahead to sign for the approval of the USD 70 million.
