According to Tweneboah Kodua, leader of the group, the situation has become dire, with residents relying on sachet water due to the pollution of their water sources.
He stressed that the galamsey menace has not only affected access to clean water but also devastated agricultural lands, undermining the livelihoods of farmers.
Mr. Tweneboah Kodua, urged the government and stakeholders to intervene and provide a lasting solution to the water crisis and environmental degradation.
Meanwhil, Members of the Concerned Citizens of Akyem Asiakwa expressed their grievances to the media, highlighting the devastating impact of illegal mining activities in the area.
They called for urgent intervention from authorities to address the environmental degradation and livelihood threats facing the community.
