Nungua Fishermen Family Angry, Calls On IGP, Government Over Constant Police Harrasment By Owner Of Comet Estate

The Fishermen Family at Nungua in the Greater Accra Region have registered their dissatisfaction over the rampant intimidation and Harrasment of Police allegedly to have been orchestrated by Mr Kyeremanteng Owner of Comet and Woodfeild estate at Accra Bortey-man Omanjor.

According to the family, the said Owner of Comet Estate Kyeremanteng has allegedly connived with the leadership of the Greater Accra Regional Police command to harras them by unlawfully arrests innocent family members who has done no wrong.

*Background history*

The fishermen Family owns over hundred acres of land at Bortey-man near Kyeremanteng’s Estate years later, Kyeremanteng begun to claim ownership of the said land so the matter was brought to High Court and Fishermen family won after Court ruling.

After the High Court Ruling, the Estate developer Kyeremanteng and his cohort have connived with the Accra police to intimidate the family whenever they step on the land hence, they are calling on the IGP to call the Greater Accra police command to other.

If Kyeremanteng thinks he has a case why doesn’t ge go to appeals court but rather using money to influence Police and landguards to bully people on our land, they added.

Members of the fishermen family were speaking in an interview during a press conference yesterday at Bortey-man Omanjor.

Moreover, Nii Bonsu Gbetsorlor who has been given power of Attorney by the Fishermen family over the land further explained the rampant Harrasment of Accra Regional Police command a situation he described as worrying.

Nii Bonsu has however, charged the lnspector General of Police COP Christian Tetteh Yehonu and National Security Minister to intervene and make peace prevail.

Newsmen further contacted the office of owner of comet estate Lawyer Kyeremanteng to respond to the issue but declined.
