A 38-year-old mother, Ernestina Osei-Poku, and her son, Romeo Kwaku Duah, narrowly escaped death in Assin Nsuta, located in the Assin South District of Ghana’s Central Region, when an articulated truck loaded with clinker—a material used in cement manufacturing—crashed into their home around 10:00 PM.
The impact caused significant structural damage to the building.
The driver of the truck, 34-year-old Abubakar Mohammed, sustained varying degrees of injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The truck’s cab remains lodged within the structure, posing a risk of further collapse. Police and fire service authorities are working to safely remove the vehicle and assess the extent of the damage.
