Pupil-Teacher Jailed 10 Years For Incest And Sodomy

A 36-year-old pupil-teacher, Edward Ekuadzi, has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labor by the Denu Circuit Court after pleading guilty to committing incest with his 17-year-old biological daughter. The case occurred in Awakorme near Aflao.

The incident came to light when the victim, a Senior High School student, confided in her mother—Madam Christy Kwau—about repeated instances of sexual abuse by her father.

According to the prosecution, the abuse occurred in the early morning hours of March and April 2025, and the accused reportedly threatened the victim to keep her silent or risk dying.

Following a report to the Aflao Police, a medical examination was conducted, and the accused was arrested on April 30, 2025.

During interrogation, Ekuadzi confessed to having sexual intercourse with his daughter on three occasions.
