Forestry Commission On War Path With Galamseyers At Forest Reserves Ceased Nine Escavators 

Forestry Commission of Ghana led by Headquarters,Ashanti region through Military and Rapid Response have made massive operations at jimira forest resrves portion of Apenkuro,Botrampa respectively as well as destruction of galamseyers items at Adobewura compactment 28-29.

During the operations, nine(9)escavators were retrieved and compounded to Depot office in Kumasi.

Intereacted with MEDIA after the operations, Mrs Lydia Opoku(Acting Executive Director of the Forest Services Division) was perturbed of the alarming rate by which armed galamseyers are destroying the forest reserves as called on all stakeholders to collaborate effectively and effectiveness with the Forestry Commission to protect the forest reserves

Nkawie in twith able support from Headquarters and Region have done operations at Apenkuro and Botrampa respectively calling on stakeholders for support.

Mr Clement Omari( Ashanti Regional Forestry Commission) also expressed worried of the galamseyers activities as well armed threatening forestry staff as well and appeal to all sundries to protect the forest reserves from destruction

Finally Mr Abraham Essel (Nkawie District Forest Services Division Manager) highlighted the state of the illegalities and its effect to the forest reserves based on investment made by both the state and private developers as well
