NADMO Urges Ghanaians To Prioritize Cleanliness During Rainy Season

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) is cautioning Ghanaians to prioritize cleanliness during the rainy season to prevent disasters.

Ashanti Regional NADMO Deputy Director, Mr. Charles Oppong, emphasizes the importance of proper waste management, as people often dump refuse into gutters, which can exacerbate flooding.

Mr. Oppong highlighted the need for citizens to take responsibility for their environment. He noted that the rainy season poses significant challenges, particularly in areas prone to flooding, and urged Ghanaians to take proactive measures to ensure their safety.

Mr. Oppong’s call comes as the country experiences increased rainfall, leading to flooding in some areas.

During a sideline interview with the media, the NADMO Deputy Director emphasized that proper waste disposal and environmental cleanliness are crucial in preventing disasters and reducing the risk of waterborne diseases.
