A shocking incident has rocked the Ohwim-Hwideem community in Kumasi, as a 15-year-old boy, Nicholas Agyei, allegedly killed his 74-year-old grandmother, Madam Joyce Owusu, also known as Amma Joyce.
According to reports, Nicholas visited his grandmother to collect money, but she asked him to bathe before receiving the money to buy food. Instead, he attacked and killed her with stones.
The teenager later confessed to the Bohyen police command that he had taken drugs before the incident, which led him to see his grandmother as a guineafowl.
The suspect’s confession has raised concerns about the potential consequences of substance abuse and the need for proper mental health support.
The incident has also highlighted the importance of addressing underlying issues that may lead to such violent behavior.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and efforts are being made to provide support to the family and the community.
