Three Articulators Fully Loaded With Thousands Of Gallons Of Cooking Oil Impounded By National Security

The National Security operatives impounded three (3) articulator trucks with full loads of thousands of gallons of cooking oil in Kumasi.

This impounded incident happened in Kumasi of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

The trucks involved a Nigerian truck,T-8082LA…..LAGOS,GHANA….AS 3885-09, BURKINA…BN 8878.

Speaking to the media, Head of Special Monitoring and Intelligence Team at the National Security, Hajia Rashida Mahama, said her team monitored the trucks from Accra to Kumasi for the past 4-days.

She said, for the total number 6,688 gallons of the oil, the agent only paid duties for only 4,320. Thereby smuggling the rest, 2,368.

According to Hajia Mahama, the agent initially said the goods were been transporting to the Ivory Coast but she said the trucks diverted their way to Kumasi.

“I will make sure the agent pays duties of the 2,368 amounting to GH¢1,000,368.80”.

She then cautioned agents or importers to do due diligence at the customs office before transporting their goods to their various destinations to avoid getting arrested by the government.
