One Killed, Over 1000 House’s Displaced At Fetteh Sky Community After Heavy Downpour, Residents Blame Mp For The Menace

One person has been reportdly missing while over 1000 people also been displaced after hours downpour on Wednesday at sky community suburb of Biakoy3 in the Gomoa East District.

The residents of sky community have been stranded after their homes submerged by water due to shoddy work done by the member of Parliament for Gomoa East, Hon. Desmond Degraft Paitoo.

Over 1000 residents have protested against the MP Hon. Desmond Degraft Paitoo over abandoned of drainage system which according to them is given them problems anytime it rains.

The residents said, the MP started constructing the drainage before 2024 elections but has left the project without completing which has caused such menace.

Expressing their grievances, the aggrieved residents have called on the MP to come and complete the project or dismantle it for them to be free from floods.

The residents said, one child is missing and they don’t no his whereabout after the flooding water submerged many homes in the area.

However, Opinion leader of the community, Mr. Francis Aidoo said they have never experienced flooding in the area before but after the MP constructed the drainage and failed to complete the area has been flooding anytime it rains.

He said, they have made several complaints to the assembly but they have failed to adhere to their plea.

The community leader has therefore given the MP, assembly two weeks ultimatum to either complete the drainage or dismantle it for the people to have their peace of mind.
