Ashaiman Scrap Dealers Cry Out Over Alleged Harassment By NIB And Landgurd

Members of the scrap dealers at Ashaiman overhead are pleading to government to intervene over what they term persistent harassment by groups claiming to be National Investigation bureau(NIB) and landguards.
According to the members of the scrap dealers in Ashaiman overhead enclave, they have been enduring persistent harassment from landguards and group purporting to be National security operatives demanding their eviction from the place of work.
They say they have been playing the scrap dealership trade since the last three decades until the previous administration attempted to evict them which they managed to convince them to stay, hence the reason to plead to the current government to consider their stay to trade in contributing their quota for national development.
Speaking at an emergency press conference in Ashaiman, they indicated that their activities creates direct and indirect employment to over two Ghanaians and hence giving the enclave to a foreigner is detrimental to them as citizens.
They contend that during the electioneering campaign in 2024,they petitioned the then candidate of the National Democratic Congress who is the President today to consider them to stay and work as scrap dealers on the enclave.
