One Dead, One Injured In Krofo Accident

A fatal accident occurred at Krofo near Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, resulting in the death of a 31-year-old driver Anthony Abeiku Enchil with registration number BA 563—19.

The incident happened around 1 pm when the driver and his brother visited family in Krofo town and were returning to Mankessim.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver was speeding when he lost control car samasult which lead to his instant death. The brother sustained injuries and is in critical condition. Upon police investigation, it was discovered that, the driver had been drinking while operating or driving the vehicle, which likely contributed to the fatal accident.

The Assembly Member of Krofo, Gyedu Electra, Nana Yaw Handson in an interview with Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah, attributed the incident as overspeeding, a common issue in the area due to the smooth road conditions.

He advised drivers, especially those operating Pregyia and TroTro taxis, to avoid speeding and drive responsibly for their lives.

The victim who was with the driver also described how the driver was operating the vehicle carelessly before the accident.

This incident highlights the importance of road safety and responsible driving practices.
