Chief Threatened To Block Somanya To Kpong Highway If Not Constructed By The End Of October 2025

The Chief of Manya Akromoase in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region,

Dr Dr Nene Narh Sipim Terkpertey II has threatened to block the highway from Somanya to Kpong in the Yilo and Manya Krobo Municipalities if not constructed by close of October 2025.

Speaking to the media at Nauso, he noted that, the people of kroboland has waited for too long for the Somanya to Kpong highway to be constructed after awarding it to a contractor.

According to him, the condition of the road is deplorable affecting many lives and drivers who plys the road as the contractor have left site after the 2024 elections.

He therefore appealed to authorities who are in Mahama’s administration and are from Kroboland to help bring the contractor back to site to complete the road which was awarded during the election period else he will lead a group of people to block the road and demonstrate to the government to signal him that Krobo’s needs better roads as it’s recognized as one of their their strongholds.

Adding to it, he stated that, some Chiefs in Krobo are doing their best for the road to be constructed so therefore Chiefs, youths, elders among others should rally support behind this agenda if authorities fail to construct the road by the close of October 2025.
