We Have To Close School Due To The Nature Of Our Building To Allow The Children Go Home When It’s About To Rain….Headmaster Papatia Jhs Lament

The headteacher of Papatia junior high school in the Karachi nchumuru district of the oti region mr Abdulai Mukaila has disclosed that the school has so many challenges but the main one is the school building which was roofed off by rainstorm since 2021 and since then nothing has been done to reroof the classroom blocks after several effort to get a place for the children to learn.

According to him the building was roofed off before he was posted to the school in 2021 and till now nothing is going on to get the place fixed.

He said he made a lot of follow ups to both the DCE and the MP wrote several letters to them to come to their aid but they turned death ears on them.

He added that anytime it’s about to rain even if is morning they have to close academic work to allow the children to go home and the possibility of the children coming back is very high making academic work teaching and learning difficult.

All the furniture in the classrooms has been destroyed by the rain the children are not comfortable in class and you the teacher don’t even feel comfortable teaching in that manner and this children write the same exams those in accra are writing yet they don’t have plans to sit.

He is therefore using this opportunity to plead with government agencies well meaning Ghanaians to help reroof the classroom blocks

The chief of Papatia Nana Njayor II has called on the authorities including the sitting MP hon Solomon Kuyon and DCE to as a matter of agency act fast to get the classroom blocks reroofed to enable the children get quality education in the area because they are left behind because how can children learn in the mercy of this weather.

He has also called for the need for a police post in the area since the place is a conflict zone to help solve some of their problems
